At the community event Beyond Internet, hosted by Das NETTZ, I had the chance to showcase my futurist and graphic recording skills simultaneously.
Together with my futuring collective Futures Probes, we co-creatively designed a scaled-up, reimagined version of the classic Zukunftswerkstatt (future workshop), inspired by Robert Jungk, adapted to engage over 100 participants in shared dialogue, creativity, and commitment.
Throughout the workshop, I captured the different phases and discussions through live digital graphic recording, combining it with AI-assisted illustration. While AI can make image generation seem effortless, creating visuals that avoid stereotypes, embrace inclusivity, and imagine the future beyond cyborg clichés required a carefully designed automated prompting process — using a custom set of prompts I developed in advance.
The illustrations were animated and displayed in a rotating slideshow on a large screen for everyone to see during the workshop. At the final “red carpet moment”, participants were delighted to see the AI-assisted illustrations of their visions come to life as they strut down the runway.
